About Us - Membership

Membership Information:

All of our meetings are conducted in English. Some degree of fluency is necessary to become a
member. No one needs to be an expert.

Members pay annual fees of 10,000Y due by October 15th of the year of joining. Members joining
after October 15th will be charged 1,000Y less per month. The annual fees entitle members to
attendance and participation in all meetings, activities and field trips (although members are
responsible for specific costs associated with an activity or trip), access to HIWC group email lists,
and the annual Member's Directory Handbook. Dues are not refundable or transferable.

We have three luncheon meetings each year. The months vary but the reservations must be made in
advance. We will inform all members of the dates. Luncheons cost about 2500Y each.

Many of our members have small children. We recognise that mothers with small children often feel
isolated and need to get out and meet other women. Please feel free to take your children to the
meetings. However, we ask you to supervise them so they don't interrupt the presentations during
the meetings.

Currently we meet in the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Hiroshima. September through May
we hold five general membership meetings at the ANA Hotel, usually on the second Monday of the
month. Please check the website Calendar for the date each month. We often invite speakers to talk to
us about a wide range of issues.

In the months without a general meeting, we have Cuppa Meetings at Andersen's in Hondori instead.
Again, check the calendar please.
